Amit Apel played around with lines and shapes in the construction of 355 Mansfield located in Los Angeles, California. The house appears extremely asymmetrical from the outside, with angles not normally used for most abodes, but it works extremely well in this design.
A Japanese style is employed in combination with a Californian aesthetic. The outdoor section takes cues from the privacy used in many homes from this Asian country, and the California elements shine through in the design of the spa. Rooms are spacious, the pool looks inviting and Amit Apel was sure not to overcrowd the home with too much decor. The result is a more minimalist look, combined with interesting shapes to make this house stand out from its surrounding neighbours on either side.
