Amazon Interests Offers Tailored Product Options for Shoppers

The new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Amazon Interests feature is being added to the eCommerce brand's shopping experience as a way to help shoppers enjoy more personalized recommendations and more.

The online shopping feature works by being prompted by the user for recommendations before providing a range of suggestions that will work well for their particular query. This could include such options as the best equipment for athletes, painting equipment for visual artists and more. The shopping feature is being launched for a small number of consumers in the US using the brand's mobile app and website with additional rollouts planned in the months ahead.

Vice President of Personalization Daniel Lloyd described the new Amazon Interests feature saying, "Simply describe what you're looking for, from 'Model-building kits and accessories for hobbyist engineers and designers' or 'Brewing tools and gadgets for coffee lovers' to 'The latest pickleball gear and accessories.' Once you've created your prompt, Interests will do the work for you, continuously scanning Amazon’s store and proactively notifying you about newly available and relevant products, restocks, and deals that align with your interests."
