Alexander Wang's pop-up event takes place at his Soho flagship location -- it is transformed into a restaurant pop-up for a week. Wang is a Chinese-American and the purpose of the event is to celebrate the Lunar new year and honor fresh beginnings to welcome the Year of the Pig.
This initiative not only pays homage to his heritage but also gives back to the local community, with 100% of the profits supporting New York's Chinatown YMCA to support the location's 'New Americans Welcome Center.' The decor was selected to imitate traditional Chinese night markets, accompanied by a new fashion collection that follows the same theme -- the food available is provided by Mission Chinese Food and Boba Guys.
The pop-up's opening night saw faces from the fashion industry including Anna Ewers, Issa Lish, and Derek Blasberg. The capsule collection features a plethora of embroidery with slogans that read "Send Noods," "StraightOuttaChinatown," and "We've Got Nice Buns." Alexander Wang's pop-up will run from February 6th to February 12th, with food and beverages available from 3pm-7pm.
