Amazon has announced the launch of Alexa Together, a subscription-based service designed to help caregivers provide remote support for the elderly people in their lives. The service will utilize Amazon's Echo technology, adding new 24/7 emergency assistance and fall detection features.
In addition, caregivers will have the option to receive notifications directly through the Alexa app, letting them know when their loved ones first use the device each day. This simple feature can function as an easy-to-use, daily check-in system for both parties.
The new service will allow up to ten people to provide remote support to a single loved one, increasing the likelihood that someone will respond promptly to an alert or notification. Other standout features of Alexa Together include giving family members the ability to set reminders, create shopping lists, play music, and read the news aloud to their loved ones without physically having to visit them.
