Kunrui Peng developed the AirPot, which is a blow-up toilet that is convenient and portable, weighing under one kilogram. It can be carried around on outdoor adventures to ensure that human waste will not damage the environment. It is a great alternative to burying waste in the ground, which can have a negative impact. The seat comes with a plastic pot and biodegradable toilet bags.
The designer speaks to Dezeen about the project, sharing "I came up with this idea after discovering some irresponsible 'remains' deep in the forest while out hiking with my mother. Since then, I have been researching their impact and harm besides being an eyesore and trying to find a solution." He continues, "AirPot is the best solution for me because it can solve the problem and provide a great experience. It is a much more comfortable way to toilet in the wilderness and is easy to transport and use."
