You're probably used to seeing the round fish bowl or the rectangular fish tank, but have you ever seen a small marine enclosure similar to the AIR1 & AIR2 aquariums? Likely not.
French designer Amaury Poudray worked to use the tools of material and form to come up with a unique means of creative expression. Inspired by the way that symbols on paper can conjure images and emotions within the reader, this project is intended to be appreciated beyond its strict physicality.
Nevertheless, at first glance, one can acknowledge the imagination in the sculpting of the AIR1 & AIR2 aquariums. The exaggerated glass dishes seem to have been stretched from spherical originals, coming to take on the shapes of baguettes. Quite unconventionally, they promote the horizontal swimming of their finned occupants.
