Bridge Homes, Like those by H3ar, Let You Live on the Water
Jessica Marcel — September 8, 2009 — Art & Design
The thousands, maybe millions, of travel photographs of bridges are a testament to the magnetic appeal of structures built over water, no matter how simple. These homes are right out of a fairy tale, with both small homes and entire city blocks incorporated into or built on top of bridges.
Architecture and design firm h3ar has even come up with a bridge design that uses pre-fabricated block housing (think storage containers) to maximize space and create a unique bridge community.
So what are the benefits of living on a bridge? Waterfront views all around, the calming sound of flowing water, fantasy appeal and bragging rights…maybe the question is why don’t all of us live on bridges?
