Not that breakdancing has seen a noteworthy resurgence since the ‘90s, but Pioneer has nonetheless decided to launch the Pioneer STEEZ, their newest series of speakers which caters to the street-dancing subculture.
The STEEZ boomboxes come in three distinct designs and cater to the individual needs of each dancer. The $299 ‘Solo’ speaker system is intended for one-man crews, the $349 ‘Duo’ adds some decibal power and size and the $499 ‘Crew’ version is an all-out bass machine. Due for release this November, each boombox boasts a degree of uniqueness with their vibrant chassis, though they’re all equally loaded with 4gigs of onboard hard-drive space. The equalization and after-effects that come with the Pioneer STEEZ’s proprietary mixing technology lets dancers control the tempo, blend the playlist with smooth transitions and find tracks based on speed and beat signatures!
