Philips Lighting has decided to go ahead both its light engineering skills as well as eye for design by putting together Leafy light installation, a spectacular canopy-based project that is located in its headquarters in the Dutch city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
This particular light installation happens to consist of 1,500 leaf-like components that change their lighting hues and patterns throughout the day and throughout the year as well in order to be able to mimic the changing times of day and changing seasons.
The installation appears to be inspired by the manner in which light filters through tree canopies. Accordingly, it is designed to showcase gorgeous reflections and diffusions of light.
However, the greatest feature of this installation is that it is interactive, with users able to change settings manually, though it can also run automatically. It's a great example of high-tech design inspired by nature's wonders.
