Nike has created new line of Air Force One sneakers in partnership with athletes, designers, musicians and artists from around the world. One of them is an eye-catching shoe called ‘Layers Airforce'. It’s a mixture of the work by cutting edge Dutch designer Hella Jongerius and the classic Nike Air Force 1. The shoe is made of 100% wool felt layers developed by textile studio Maharam which seeks inspiration beyond the conventional boundaries of interior textiles.
The Layers Airforce sneakers were launched on April 1st at the Moss store in New York. The embroidery over hand-cut patterns is simply art-like.
The Nike Layers Airforce sneakers are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
