The 9-3 Electric Vehicle is an Electric Version of the Saab 9-3 Aero Sedan
Rahul Kalvapalle — August 26, 2014 — Autos
The 9-3 Electric Vehicle is a development prototype produced by Swedish automaker Saab. The car is actually a Saab 9-3 Aero modified to be powered by an all-electric 100 Kilowatt motor. This setup gives the car a range of 200 km on a full charge and the ability to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in about 10 seconds.
The car is constructed to perform sharply in corners thanks to an even weight distribution and low center of gravity. The car's lithium-ion batteries are placed under the floor, allowing it to retain the interior space and luggage compartment of the regular Saab 9-3 Aero.
If the 9-3 Electric Vehicle does end up making the jump from prototype vehicle to production vehicle, it will be manufactured for the Chinese market.
