Pirelli developed the first-ever 5G tire that is able to inform other drivers of potentially hazardous conditions. Pirelli named its 5G tire 'The Cyber Tire,' and it operates by recording data as the user drives. The data then gets transmitted to the car using a low latency 5G signal. After that, the car has the ability to share this information with other vehicles on the road using the 5G signal.
The company showcased its tire at '5G Path of Vehicle-to-Everything Communication,' which took place in Italy.
A tire that is able to inform others of hazardous conditions could improve road safety for many people. If more drivers are aware of hazardous conditions, then people may drive more cautiously during this time.
