dMFK Architects Renovates the 45 Whitfield Street Office
Amy Duong — January 12, 2024 — Art & Design
London design studio dMFK Architects renovates an original 70s office building in Fitzrovia dubbed the 45 Whitfield Street building. It is made to match the original character and heritage of the building with a full interior update. On the main floor, the foyer is fully refurbished with joined spaces to function as work areas and communal sections that are furnished with coffee tables and plush furniture.
Director of the studio Joshua Scott tells Dezeen about the project, stating, "Our aim was to celebrate the era and character of 45 Whitfield Street that had been diluted and concealed through successive refurbishments. The retrofit exposes the weight and materiality of the robust concrete structure and original detailing, whilst introducing warmth, colour and carefully curated finishes to reinforce its identity."
