Paint-On Gold Costumes

It is an old myth, but here are ten pieces of proof that destroy the James Bond-related myth that if someone is dipped entirely in paint, they will die of asphyxiation because their skin wouldn’t be able to breathe. The Mythbusters even took this on and proved it wrong with a very willing Cary covered in gold latex body paint.

Don’t try this at home as there are real dangers of painted ladies suffering toxic reactions to chemicals, or overheating due to blocked sweat glands. It’s all a bit confusing if you consider that Cleopatra slept in a pure gold face mask to enhance her bewitching beauty, and in ancient Rome, gold salves were used to treat a variety of skin problems.
