Trend Hunter Travels to Niagara to Test Drive the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

This past month, I had an opportunity to head to the beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario, to test out the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. Our journey with the Chevrolet Equinox team began at the Alt Hotel, located next to Toronto Pearson International Airport. We then were given detailed itineraries of all our activities upon our arrival at the Inn on the Twenty, in Jordan Station. Next, we hopped into the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and away we went.
The first thing I noticed was that the ride was quick, smooth, and quiet. Despite being on the highway for majority of the hour-long trip, the SUV was extraordinarily quiet and comfortable. This was partially due to the 4-way manual seat adjuster, which enabled me to adjust my seat for optimal visibility. Although the Equinox is an SUV, it did not feel cumbersome or bulky on the road and the interior was both spacious and refined. The interior controls were also intuitive to use, such as the Chevrolet MyLink to access the Navigation system, which helped to get us there, or the cruise control setting used on the highway.
After lunch we had a full presentation on the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, and while the pricing, horsepower and fuel-efficiency are impressive, it was the Canadian-specific features that I found the most interesting. The Equinox is made in Ontario, and its heated seats, heated mirrors and remote start are all standard features. All these features will definitely appeal to those who have to drive during the notoriously harsh Canadian winters.
The ad campaigns created for the redesigned Equinox were also created specifically for the Canadian consumer. The General Motors team had two ads they showed us, one in English that showed consumers from all over Canada interacting with the brand new Equinox, and a second ad in French that showed consumers discussing the Equinox. Rather than creating a blanket ad for the whole country, General Motors created two in order to appeal to the unique needs of different consumers across Canada.
In creating the campaign for the 2018 Equinox, Chevrolet wanted to showcase that they understand that Canadians are all about creating and enjoying new experiences. They also wanted to showcase that the Equinox is the vehicle to take you on those experiences and be part of that journey. It is the perfect blend of style and function, and it has it all. The Equinox is packed with technology, while offering both a stylish interior and exterior. As the ad points out, the Equinox can be dressed up or dressed down.
Some of the included technology features are the Colour Touch screen, OnStar with 4G LTE1 and Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, the ability to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and surround vision camera. The hands-free power liftgate is also perfect for when you have your hand full, since you simply need to swipe your foot under the rear bumper. Finally, OnStar offers monthly diagnostic reports are sent directly to your phone via the app, so that you know exactly how your Equinox is running and when it is getting close to needing scheduled maintenance.
I was able to test out all of these features as I drove the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox both on highways to get to the Butterfly Conservatory located in Niagara Falls, and on local roads to get to Zoom Leisure in Niagara-on-the-Lake. In fact, the standard heated seats were put to good use after the Zoom Tour of the Niagara-on-the-Lake area.
Stylish, powerful, and filled with endless features, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was made with the Canadian adventurer in mind.
