Studio Gameiro focuses on passing on classical architectural traditions with its work on this 19th-century apartment in Lisbon. Like many modern approaches to home design, the local firm strived to hit the right balance between historically beautiful elements and motifs driven by contemporary culture.
Some of the older features of the 19th-century apartment include a wooden framework -- a strategy to allow the building to better adapt to seismic activity, aged frescos, and exposed ceilings. This gives the Lisbon abode a strong romantic quality that renders it appealing to many. The arched sizable windows are another point of interest and Studio Gameiro further creates indoor narratives through the use of a soft color palette which extends to pale cabinetry, natural lime-plastered walls, as well as quirky concrete flooring with "slim blocks of white, grey, and rosy pink marble."
