Thos. Moser celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022 and as a part of that celebration, the design imprint delivered the 1972 Chair. Despite its name, the chair was not originally launched in 1972, but instead was released in 2022 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company's founding in 1972. Developed by Tom Moser and his son, David, the retro chair boasts a timeless design language and prioritizes comfort above all else.
In terms of structure, the chair is coopered and has a sculptured shape that invites those to easily settle in. The shape of the chair is created by steam-bent wood that is connected by ash legs and spindles. While the chair is a limited-edition, featuring the maker's signature to commemorate 50 years, the first 50 chairs will also come with an engraved medallion on the bottom of the seat. However, the 1972 chair will remain in Thos. Moser’s lineup of offerings going forward, making it available for purchase even after the limited edition has sold out.
