New Balance Launches a New Iteration of the 1500 Sneaker Model
The London Marathon is coming up for the year and New Balance celebrates by launching a version of its 1500 sneaker model to mark the occasion. There are two iterations of the silhouette following the postponement of the event. The design of the shoes are made in collaboration with Run The Boroughs, a run club based in London.
The sneakers are limited edition and constructed with the usual premium pigskin suede along with mesh across the uppers. All of this sits on top of the brand's ENCAP midsole foundation. There are branding details on the side of the shoe that features embroidery reading "2: 11:4 8" to celebrate the inaugural London Marathon in 1981 with the time set by Inge SImonsen and Dick Beardsley at the time.
