Twin Peaks Returns for a Much Anticipated Third Season
Vasiliki Marapas — October 7, 2014 — Pop Culture
Twin Peaks returns for its third season 25 years after it originally aired. Showtime renewed the cult classic for an additional nine episodes, which will be written and produced by the creators David Lynch and Mark Frost.
For those who are unaware, Twin Peaks was an American drama that first aired in 1990. The show centered around the murder of beautiful homecoming queen Laura Palmer. Though it only ran for two seasons, it quickly catapulted into a cult status, gaining a rabid and dedicated following.
The show, which will go into production next year, is intended to be a continuation of the original story, rather than a reboot. Set in present day, the new episodes will hopefully shed some light on the lingering, unanswered questions of the previous seasons.
