Toronto residents received a shocking surprise when an earthquake hit the city and surrounding area on the afternoon of June 23. The Toronto earthquake was mild, only reaching a 5.5 on the Richter scale in the most concentrated areas, but it was supposedly felt all the way to Montreal and even as far as New York state.
Toronto earthquakes are generally unheard of, especially in the same week as the hyped-up G20 summit. A bizarre week for Torontonians everywhere, indeed.
