The J T Engineering College ‘Earthquake Detector Robot’ is the invention of Hiren Patel and a group of fellow students. The devastating earthquake which struck Haiti and another one which hit Hiren Patel’s native state had prompted the students to develop a robot that can sense earthquakes.
The Earthquake Detector Robot is claimed to sense vibrations of the planet three hours before an actual earthquake, giving authorities warning against the danger before it hits. Bugs are still being worked out, but if perfected, this robot could save many lives in the future.
