Ever since the 1969 moon landings, people have been transfixed with space innovations and space travel. The current societal fixation with space travel has now resulted in a resurgence of space-related technological advancements. Companies and organizations are continuing to push for space innovations that could change the way humans see and interact with the universe beyond our planet.
One notable space-related innovation comes from SpaceX, where the company will offer a rocket rideshare program for those wishing to launch satellites. Rideshare missions will begin in 2020. The rideshare missions will make satellite launching much more accessible for any organization that wishes to do so.
Another advancement in the field of space travel comes from Blue Original and it is a self-sustaining space habitat concept, titled Blue Moon. The habitat would be able to provide shelter for those undergoing space travel.
Lastly, a crowdfunded spacecraft named the LightSail 2, was able to successfully operate a solar sail during space travel. Solar sail research could result in aa more efficient way for spacecraft to travel.
