From Beautiful Masks to Creepy Shields
Bianca — January 29, 2009 — Art & Design
Hide your face, hide your true identity, right? People having been wearing masks for centuries, and continue to do so today.
Some facial covers are decorative, like wedding masks, quince masks and those that come to mind when you think of elegant masquerade balls. Masks are also used as a way to protect our orifices, such as gas masks, or more commonly in today’s times, to shield lungs from smog in high-pollution countries like China.
This cluster highlights some of the most innovative masks we’ve seen today, from distraction blinders for office workers, to emotion-disguising bobbleheads, and the more traditional in between.
