Shu Konishi is a brilliant and very avant-garde sculptor who seems to have a particular fascination with human anatomy.
The sculptor’s focus seems to revolve a great deal around female body parts such as the breasts and buttocks. There is also an emphasis on showcasing the female torso in bodysuits that can be zipped in and out of at will. Then there are the pieces with a very high shock value such as the infant with the gas mask.
In spite of the fact that we are only showcasing a very small sample of this artist’s work, I am both repelled and fascinated by these sculptures.
