From Edgy Gatsby Editorials to Pulp Fiction Captures
Alyson Wyers — August 29, 2013 — Fashion
This collection of literary photography takes a look at fashion photoshoots inspired by literature. This includes lookbooks and editorials that are inspired by real pieces of work, such as the Great Gatsby, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and Where the Wild Things Are. Others feature a genre or time period including Victorian, fantasy, romance and harlequin. At the same time, others focus on different methods or modes of literature, like novels and poetry. Other literary photography examples feature a bookish theme, by taking place in a library or having typography back drops.
This combination of literature and fashion photography is an interesting and new way to mix the two art forms. Typically literature most often mixes with film. Fashion on the other hand is influenced by a large variety of elements in popular culture beyond the written word.
