From Floral Furniture Features to Adjustable App-Controlled Sofas

As the June 2017 furniture trends show, furniture is all about living. There's a reason that newly purchased houses and condos have eerie, sterile feelings to them; it's because they don't have any furniture inside. Once decorated with furniture that matches one's personal style, a house becomes a home.
Modern technology has had a big impact on the materials and production practices in the June 2017 furniture trends. The Bartlett School of Architecture's Design Computation Lab recently designed a lounge chair that is composed or a single, continuous strand of 3D-printed polymer -- a practice that couldn't possibly have been imagined in the time of Eames.
Other trends are just as low tech as the above it high tech. For example, Mabeo designed a furniture set built entirely from scrap materials scavenged from the junk heaps of Botswana. The furniture features industrial materials like sheet metal, shovels, and rough, raw wood.
