Hunger Games Tops Harry Potter on Amazon

Amazon.com just announced this weekend that the Hunger Games tops Harry Potter as its best-selling books of all time.
The Hunger Games is a trilogy, which only heightens the remarkable feat as the famed Harry Potter series consists of seven books comparably. With the dystopian novels released four years ago, an overtaking of this sort must be attributed (at least in part) to other factors. It turns out that the Hunger Games sales also include the numbers of eBook purchases through Amazon, which coincidentally is a way of reading that has seen exponential growth in popularity over the past few years. This collection of spinoffs features movie posters, editorial photoshoots, tattoo art and nail polish that all hold elements of the movie's characteristic costumes. The protagonist Katniss Everdeen inspires many with her trademark braid as well as bow and arrow.
The series seems to be well on its way to inspire a generation as dedicated as those who self-dubs themselves the ‘Harry Potter Generation.'
