Suzanne Collins' sci-fi novel is coming to the big screen and after being treated to a teaser trailer a couple months ago, the full Hunger Games trailer has finally been released. The movie is one of the most highly-anticipated trilogies next to David Finchers remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future and focuses on a protagonist named Katniss (Winter’s Bones’ Jennifer Lawrence) who is forced to compete in a brutal competition that the book is named after. Pictures and teasers of the movie were released prior to this clip, but this is a first good look at what fans of the novel can expect from the movie. The Hunger Games trailer reveals a few action clips and the rest of the cast which includes Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz.
The Hunger Games will hit theaters March 13th, 2012.
