From Transparent Towers to See-Through Homes
Kevin Young — April 26, 2012 — Art & Design
Glass homes offer truly panoramic views, bringing what's outside in and connecting people and their surroundings in a much closer way. Office towers are even adopting glass facades that are aesthetically pleasing and simultaneously calming. Transparent designs are popping up everywhere from furniture to partitioning walls; this allows a space to feel more open and breathable.
One advantage glass structures have is the unlimited natural lighting; architectural glass designs save people money when it comes to hydro bills, almost enabling an entire space to act as a green house and encourage the growth of flora. Privacy may be an issue, but a simple curtain will do the job. These glistening glass structures make man-made buildings look a little more natural.
