From Edible Charity Cribs to Modern Gingerbread Houses
Vivian Lau — June 6, 2012 — Special
There are many things to look forward to as the Christmas holiday season rolls around and eating delicious desserts like festive ginger goods is just one of them.
Christmas is all about spending time with one's family and making gingerbread houses is one of the most enjoyable ways to do it. Kids love being able to make their own creations, present them during the annual holiday feast and ravage their masterpiece, come the appropriate time. With gingerbread kits including only the traditionally fixings, families are looking to upscale their efforts and fashion more elaborate designs, like in the shape of townhouses or even into suggestive poses (adults like to bake treats too).
With gingerbread being an edible pillar in the Christmas season, it is often used for decoration -- so do not be alarmed if you walk past a life-size gingerbread cutout of Santa this year in your local mall.
