From 90s-Inspired Hiking Sneakers to Classy Hiking Shoes

As high-performance tech attire continues to solidify its place within the world of fashion, hiking footwear has left the trails and become a go-to staple for streetwear fanatics.
Currently, a long list of prominent brands has hopped on the hiking-streetwear bandwagon. Brands like Nike are now incorporating the functional elements and clunky looks associated with hiking footwear into their urban sneaker designs. Meanwhile, traditional hiking apparel companies like Salomon have opted to add some streetwear-inspired flair to their classic boots.
Other innovative examples of fashion-forward hiking shoes include the Danner Caprine Low hiking sneaker, which consists of a unique 3D-Knit upper, and Undercoverism's punk-inspired boot from Japanese designer Jun Takahashi. In addition, there appears to be a recent tendency for athletic brands to draw from retro hiking looks specifically, as is seen with Reebok's DMX Trail Shadow.
