While the ancient Egyptian pyramid discovered this week certainly isn’t, um, new, it most definitely merits a mention. The Egyptian pyramid was found by archaeologists in an area south of Cairo. Despite the structure’s 4,300 year old history, pyramid-style architecture like this continues to influence modern design.
The slideshow below highlights some of the most cutting edge pyramids and triangles we’ve seen in design, and while some seem to be concepts for a world far in the future, others have strikingly similar designs to those of ancient Egyptian pyramids.
