From Astounding Ads to Dastardly Design

Even an Elizabethan-era executioner might think these depraved decapitated finds to be a touch excessive, but then again, that's the point.
As far as advertising goes, agencies are constantly under pressure to stand out from the competition. Sometimes one can do that through pleasant, reassuring ways. Other times one can make an ad so gory and jarring that it will leave viewers' heads spinning.
In terms of art, there has long been an audience for the macabre. Some medieval tapestries make modern horror movies seem like sanitized fairy tales by comparison.
Though gruesome industrial and interior design may not be everyone's thing, novel doodads can be a great conversation starter at a party -- or conversation stopper, which is just as convenient sometimes.
Whatever one's tastes, it would be difficult to deny the creativity behind these depraved decapitated innovations.
