From Urban Hen Houses to Green Chicken Coops
Michael Hines — May 19, 2011 — Lifestyle
I bet the chickens on old McDonald's farm never lived in anything like these contemporary chicken coops. More and more, city dwellers are turning to farming to help lower their carbon footprint and eat more organically.
You can't expect a farmer living on the 50th floor to house their chickens in anything but one of these contemporary chicken coops. Most of these coops were built by designers who have made them both functional and eye-catching. While I am in no rush to start my own farm, I do have to admit that almost all of these chicken coops would look good in my backyard. Whether or not you are planning on starting your own urban farm, you should still check out all of these contemporary chicken coops. Think of it as the farm animal version of MTV's Cribs.
