From App-Controlled Cookers to Discounted Ingredient Apps

The process of making food at home is becoming increasingly digitized, which is why the number of apps for cooking is rising at such a steady rate. Instead of searching online for recipes and the like, we're opting to download apps for cooking that will guide us from the grocery store to the range to effectively cut out guess work and deliver something we're more likely to enjoy.
What we're also seeing in this collection of apps for cooking is the rise in appliance connectivity; instead of standing around in the kitchen watching things cook, our appliances are sending notifications to our phones. What's more, some appliances are coming with proprietary apps that work straight out of the box, which means you'll be able to preheat the oven on your way home or check the status of your slow cooker.
