From Intentionally Annoying Robots to Kid-Friendly Therapy Robots
The 2017 robot trends show that, without any question, there are robots now. That's a ridiculous fact when one really considers it. Automata have been the stuff of fantasy for decades, and while there's been a steady improvement in robotics over the years, the robots that are being released as relatively inexpensive, commercial, mass-produced products are often more advanced than even the fantasy bots of yore.
Rather than conducting industrial tasks, robots are being used increasingly to deal with human beings, too. For example, a train station in China has employed a robotic police offer that has been approved by the local municipal government, the famous Pepper robot has learned how to conduct traditional Buddhist funerals, and a robot has even been given official citizenship in the United Arab Emirates.
