Taiwanese company 'BluSense Diagnostics' have developed a Zika detecting machine that would cost $20 per patient.
The 'BluBox' takes a blood sample and within nine minutes a diagnosis is ready. The machine only needs a drop of blood for it's sample which is mixed with magnetic nanoparticles before it is scanned by the machine's internal laser. This is a viable solution to an existing medical issue as Zika detection tests currently cost patients hundreds of dollars to preform. At $20 a patient, the BluBlox is a viable global detection method.
The BluBox Zika detection machine also includes an automated data reporting system that sends positive test results to a database so every case of the virus can be monitored.
