The floral dresses in the YSL Cruise 2012 collection are a refreshingly bold take on the standard fare of muted dresses in light pink, cream and pale orange. I previously wrote about the nautical aspect of this Yves Saint Laurent collection, but the feminine dresses also shown in the brand's runway presentation merit a mention.
The YSL Cruise 2012 collection abounds in bold floral patterns. Blood red, deep blue, bright orange and mustard yellow all make an appearance. The standard LBD is dressed up with a pop of crimson at the neckline, waist or hem; red even adorns the calf of a classic pair of white capri pants.
My favorite shots from the YSL Cruise 2012 collection, however, are the ones that encompass deep blue, like the cutout shirt-and-shorts combination in the first image or the floor-length floral dress in the fifth image.
