YouTube Added Several New Features to its Short Videos

YouTube has rolled out a set of updates for its 'Shorts' service, include 'YouTube Shorts Replies.' The replies feature allows content creators to respond to comments on a Short they have uploaded with another Short, similar to Instagram and TikTok. YouTube has also released more content creation tools for its Shorts that allow for in-app editing, placing the feature more in-line with dedicated short video platforms. Previously, YouTube Shorts would need to be edited prior to uploading.

Super Chats are a feature where users can donate a certain amount of money to have their comment displayed either on-screen or more boldly in the chatroom, ensuring that the content creator sees the comment. This was previously a feature on 'YouTube Gaming.' Lastly, YouTube Shopping is a feature that will allow for a seamless link between a product in a video and a venue through which that product can be purchased. This increases the attractiveness of brand partnerships and deals through Shorts content creators.
