Created by the founder of Hot or Not, this YouTube app for kids lets parents ensure their children don't run into inappropriate videos online. A father of three now, James Hong launched Cakey to keep his kids and other youth safe from unsuitable, adult-targeted content on the popular video hosting site.
The social media platform does have lots of amazing videos for young people, as evidenced by their recent YouTube Kids app. The Cakey Village project enables children to only watch videos you add in the app or choose from other videos parents have shared on the Cakey website. Very much a work in progress, the YouTube app for kids will prevent youngsters from accidentally stumbling upon content that's too old for them.
