The Yohji Yamamoto designs for the Spring/Summer 2020 collection made their debut during Paris Fashion Week. The silhouettes are slouchy, sporty, with gothic undertones. One thing that works really well for Yamamoto's garments is their timeless aesthetic, allowing for individuals to style them to perfection. In 2020, however, the designer slightly diverges from his predominantly black palette. Instead, he infuses the clothing with "more photograph prints and color-saturated prints." These elements add a playful aspect to the classic silhouettes which are already expressive through tailoring alone.
The Spring/Summer 2020 is composed exclusively of Yohji Yamamoto designs. Two footwear collaborations are present on the runway. These are the "sporty running shoes and [the military-inspired] rubber-toed sneakers." Both have been completed through a Yamamoto's partnership with adidas.
