NIKE's Year of the Horse Shoes Celebrate the 2014 Chinese New Year

To celebrate 2014 and the arrival of the Chinese New Year, NIKE is continuing its tradition of Zodiac-inspired footwear this year with a pair of Year of the Horse shoes.

This year's Chinese New Year-inspired shoes are interpreted on a pair of NIK Air Max 1 shoes. The leather and suede texturing of the shoes themselves is gray and inspired by the hides of thoroughbred horses. The inside of the shoes is lined with a green jade color, which is symbolic of luck.

The outside of the trainers features the iconic NIKE logo in gold, as well as tongues imprinted with a round Year of the Horse stamp. A golden lace tab on the shoes introduces another gold element that reads: "great success with the arrival of the horse" in Chinese.

The limited shoes will be available on the ninth of January and hopefully will bring luck and prosperity to those who wear them in celebration of the Chinese New Year.
