Stick-On Solar Panels

Wysips Turn Any Surface into a Solar Power Plant

This may be your first time ever reading the word "Wysips," but I guarantee that it won't be your last. Wysips are a new technology developed by a French company of the same named, designed to turn any surface into a solar panel.

Wysips are a thin film between 0.1 to 0.5 mm thick that can be applied to the screen of phones, tablets, laptops etc. Wysips are comprised of three layers, with the middle layer housing a photovoltaic panel. The top layer is made from a thin and flexible medium that allows the human eye to see through to the screen below, while it harnesses the energy of the sun.

The panels have shown been shown to be 10 percent efficient, a number big enough to provide extra power to gadgets but not to power them entirely. I'm willing to wager that the design will be tinkered with a bit and Wysips will soon come standard on all gadgets.
