Recently, Dutch architecture studio MVRDV debuted its designs for the Wuhan Library and the aesthetic is breathtaking. The building has an airy and hyper-modern feel to it, with many architectural elements capturing attention. Spanning 140,000 square meters, this library is an important project for the country. It is expected to be "one of China's biggest libraries and a landmark for the central, Chinese city."
The Wuhan Library design by MVRDV boasts a hexagonal floor plan that is elevated. There will be three glazed facades opening the interior up to beautiful city views. The architecture firm also drew inspiration from books when designing the building, incorporating louvers (a type of window blind or shutter) "ina. bookshelf-like pattern."
