Snapchat is now introducing a new way for its users to capture the world around them with what it calls 'World Lenses.'
In addition to being able to augment their own selfies with quirky lenses and filters, Snapchat users now have the chance to use World Lenses to bring even more life to the world around them through augmented reality. The new AR feature boasts technology that makes 3D objects able to move, turn, resize and rotate based on what's being captured in a photo or video. To use this feature, one only needs to tap the camera screen to call up new World Lenses that are available to use nearby.
The introduction of World Lenses from Snapchat is particularly noteworthy considering the competition the social media platform has been receiving from Instagram and Facebook.
