Facing difficult times can often be an isolating experience, but the Wisdo app aims to change that by connecting people who are in the midst of a battle with cancer, loss of a job, loneliness, or other major life challenges. Developed by co-founder and CEO Boaz Gaon, the Wisdo app was first conceptualized shortly after the death of Gaon's father in 2008. The idea behind the app was born from this tragedy as Gaon and his family wanted to talk to other families with similar struggles.
The Wisdo app currently supports more than 70 communities that users can join. Each of these communities is joined by a shared experience, ranging from concerns over buying a house to a space for survivors of sexual assault. The app is currently only open to users older than 18.
