Daniele Papuli has created this range of wearable sculptures that are constructed using a paper medium. The artist’s incredible works translate matter, space and a sense of place through their organic forms.
Originally from Maglie, a region of Puglia, Papuli "creates shifting and moving sculptures, formed by thousands of thin sheets and ancestral forms that are heavy and light at the same time."
Working alongside fashion designer Goran Lelas, the artist created this set of wearable sculptures that resembled rays of light and weaved basket motifs. The fashionable art creations stunned an audience at Camera della Moda’s runway event and married imagination with practicality.
Though visually over-the-top, these pieces moved beautifully and were light-weight enough to be worn by models on the runway stage.
