Omron Healthcare launched HeartGuide as a wearable blood pressure monitor, which recently got FDA clearance as a medical device. Now, users will be able to closely keep an eye on their blood pressure with the same level of effort that it takes to check the time on a watch.
HeartGuide, which was exhibited at CES 2019, integrates an inflatable oscillometric blood pressure cuff that provides automated measurements with medical-grade accuracy.
Alongside the launch of the blood pressure monitor wearable, Omron Healthcare is introducing its new digital health service, HeartAdvisor, which takes the form of a mobile app that provides heart health-centric insights and coaching. This is particularly noteworthy, as Omron Healthcare President and CEO Ranndy Kellogg states that "80% of heart disease and stroke events are preventable."
