Chase Shiel works with Ryustyler once again to design the 'Wagashi' iteration of the iconic Air Max 1 sneaker model by Nike. The bespoke footwear is designed with inspiration drawn from Japanese desserts that are often enjoyed with tea, recalling the duo's previous design.
The latest sneakers are constructed from nubuck and pigskin that are sourced from Japan to make the inspiration more authentic. There are five pastel colors that make up the entire design, lining the inside with leather materials to correlate with the leather insoles. The laves and soles are slightly translucent to recall wagashi's ingredients. Rounding out the model is a floral motif on top of the Swoosh informed by laser engraving.
