Inspired by medicinal plants, the WAESKA bar is a visual masterpiece that serves up inspired cocktails in a gorgeous space. Located at the Mandrake Hotel, in the London district of Fitzrovia, this posh cocktail bar fills its space with modern-style taxidermy and simplistic design. Perched proudly above the bar is a magnificent stuffed creature that is part gazelle, kangaroo and peacock -- a beautiful piece by artist Enrique Gomez de Molin entitled Fable. The surrounding space is considerably more tame and opts for a reserved look with clean furniture and muted colors. With mirror top tables, floral-patterned chairs and cabinets filled with curiosities, this gorgeous bar blends tradition with modern design.
While the decor is sure to draw people in, the cocktails are the reason most will stay. With a menu created by Walter Pintus, the cocktails featured at WAESKA bar draws influence from traditional medicine used around the world. All the syrups, infusions and bitters are made in house, and are lovingly combined with exotic ingredients like bee pollen, galangal, sea buckthorn, pandan and wattleseed. The menu is a refined down to eight options, but each is designed and crafted with the utmost attention to detail.
